John Rapson Gallery

IN REFLECTION

PHOTOGRAPHS, PEACEMAKERS, AND PACIFIST EMILY

The exhibition has been prepared in collaboration with our friends from the Story of Emily, and it has been made possible thanks to the Museum Development South West ‘Small Open Grant’ and ‘On Display!’ grant, Liskeard Town Council’s support, and last but not least – our visitors’ generous donations.

About John Rapson

Rapson began as a wireless operator who served in the RAF in WW2 where he acquired a Zeiss camera leading to a forty-year career in Liskeard where he ran his photography studio from 1947 to 1987 capturing many important events as well as Liskeard’s history. He was extremely thorough in his record keeping and was an avid traveller as he explored Europe whilst taking photographs across his trips.
