Head to the museum on Saturdays 3rd, 10th & 17th for Christmas fun at the museum. We have a trail, Christmas crafts and light refreshments all for free! There’s also an optional raffle, with proceeds going towards the upkeep of the museum!
Come and join us for a Spooky Halloween Trail and Creepy Crafts where you can make a spiderweb, pumpkin or cat!
All activities are free, but donations are welcome in out donation box!

This year’s Heritage Open Day theme is ‘astounding inventions,’ and to celebrate we have the perfect competition for all our budding inventors!
Without following instructions or sets, we want you to invent an astounding machine out of Lego or Meccano! The only rules are that the model can be no bigger than 50cm in any direction (the actual machine you’re designing can be much bigger), and it must come with a 75 word max. description of what the machine can do.
There are three different age categories, and the favourites for each category will go head to head on display at the museum, alongside their descriptions, during the Heritage Open Days (9th – 18th September).
Visitors to the museum will then pick their favourites through anonymous voting and the winner will receive a prize!
